Generally, I'm required to use a wide variety of applications and documents at work. Often this means that I can lose a lot of time navigating the contents of my PC in order to find and access them. A great solution comes from Winstep Xtreme, which will allow you to organize the shortcuts that you frequently use in a convenient way.
Winstep Xtreme is actually a bundle of desktop enhancements that help you transform your screen completely. You can store the program shortcuts that matter to you in the NeXuS dock (usually located on top of your Desktop), organize the folders you use more frequently in the Workshelf (at the bottom of the screen) and select the modules you wish to display on your Desktop (clock, weather, etc.). I also enjoyed the fact that the suite gives you access to a wide range of themes and helps you customize the appearance of your desktop however you like.
An aspect I don't appreciate at all is that the program consumes a lot of system resource and often makes your computer hang regardless of whether is an old system or a high performance one.
To conclude, Winstep Xtreme suite provides you with a large amount of Desktop customization tools. However, taking into consideration its important disadvantage, my guess is that you should try it only if you choose to run its utilities separately.
- Customizable interface.
- Gives access to various desktop customization tools.
- Brings you various themes.
- Direct access to the applications and documents you use more frequently.
- Available in many languages.
- Runs slow and consumes a lot of system resources.
